Hi,
Just out of curiousity, how long does it take you to drive to work?
My drive is appox. 7 miles and, as a matter of fact, my car, a 1989 model with only 36,000 original miles, doesn't even have a radio, lol.

I work for Calgary Transit, and as such I usually work split shifts. My commute is normally 15-20 minutes each way, with two round trips per day.

I have Mozart's Requiem on repeat in my ipod - am singing in a chorus that is performing that Saturday night...
"Quam olim Abrahae promisisti et semini eius"
Great music and a lotta fun to perform. We are doing Carmina Burana next & I am really looking forward to that one!!!

I just got a collection of Bach, because I wanted the Tocatta and Fuge in D Minor. I don't entirely like the interpretation by the organist, because it sounds a bit to staccato to me, but otherwise it's good.
Normally my CD player is filled with The Lord of the Rings (currently on The Two Towers). I got the trilogy and the Hobbit for 50% off at the bookstore, and it's completely unabridged (even has the author's foreward)!!

I just got an Ipod look-alike to take on a trip and I've been loading it with music from my computer. If your'e looking for a source of folk, celtic, blues, etc., you can join for about $30 annually and they have member downloads free and you can buy tracks for $.99.
There are established artists and lots of new groups that offer tracks just to get noticed.

I'm sure I got more than $30 free music the first year and I'm now in my second year. I'm partial to celtic and folk myself.

I have no use for satellite radio, as even without commercials they still play what THEY want, not necessarily what I want to hear.
As for Ipods and the like...perhaps some day. For now I'm quite content to listen to CD's (and the occassional cassette). I do download my old favorites and burn CD's, though.
