Urgent .. to Cilt or not to Cilt

Tomorrow night I have to go to an awards ceremony with the wife in a rather posh hotel... Dinner Jackets etc.
These two piccys are my only option if I wear my Cilt .. other than that I'll have to stick a pair of trousers on . Anyone reckon either of these would be ok or not. I will get the mrs opinion later as well. I know she would be delighted if I wore my Cilt but because I don't have any suitable shoes she might suggest leaving it. I did have some brogues but can't find em at the mo, doubt if I will by tomorrow either. They must be packed away in something in the loft.
Anyhow .. would I get away with these ..

I kind of agree with P1M. I like the look with the green jacket. Perhaps, if you won't be around too many people who know much about kilts, and you have suitable pockets on the jacket you could go without the sporran, and maybe keep the jacket buttoned up to look a little more streamlined. Anyway, just my two cents.

One more thought. Have you any black boots. Maybe something big and heavy looking. I think it'd add a bit of authority to the look.

The dark coat looks a little long for a kilt. The green one looks more like the Welsh natl. tartan colors. What level of formality are we talking here?

... In my opinion u'd have to look for some shoes, even if they're not gb's, but u'll find many examples of how a kilt looks pretty well with other kinds of shoes.... black, of course.... and I'm not at all with the look of the green jacket.... a shorter version of the dark one would be great!

I like the cut of the green better than the dark, and the color seems to go as well. I would second the choice of looking for other shoes though.

I'm kinda of the opinion that shoes for a formal occasion wouldn't really be that different for a kilt as they would for pants, but that's me.

On my monitor it looks like your belt and sporran are black. If I didn't have a pair of black shoes to match then I'd go with the p**ts. I like the tie and green coat together, but I have a Welsh bias.

I'd go with the green jacket
but I think that it would look better with dress shoes
