It looks a bit too dominatrix to me, especially with the buckle wrapped. I think it's the narrow strips that give the more feminine look. I wonder what a 2" - 3" belt made of 1" wide strips would look like? It might give a more masculine effect.
Noooooo. . . fighting bad memories. . . from . . . the early 90's . . .argh!
Sorry, but not for me. Like I said, bad memories of similar belts from my past that were designed like that, but were meant to hang long after the buckle.
Also I would say I think it's too 'busy' for wearing with a kilt. You don't want the attention to be on your belt, but on the kilt.
Way.... WAY too much going on there.
Look at sears hardware section for an excellent casual heavy belt it is intended for tool belt use, 2 1/4 inches wide heavy leather.
