Back Online
I'm finally back online. Several weeks ago lightning struck a tree beside my house. Since then I've had to replace all the phone, cable and electrical wiring, switchs and plugs. Not to mention EVERYTHING that was plugged in. It's been an interesting time and not one I want to repeat. I wasn't home at the time or I'd died of fright.

Glad to hear you're back!!
Many years ago my parents house was struck by lightening.. It scared the HELL out of us.. Iwas intersting to listen to the sound go away from the house instead of rumble toward the house.. It took the microwave, a TV, a VCR and the answering machine.. I also started a fire in the attic!! Glad we were home!!

There was no fire started at my house when it hit. However, my cat lost at least 2 of it's 9 lives.

Growing up in rural SC, we were the end of the line so we got hit often (no fires). We were relieved of the problem when the Joyners' built down from us. Thunderstroms were frightening for a number of years. Just glad that you are back with the house in one piece (sorta).

Glad to have you back, it was good to hear that everything was phyisically OK for you, but what a shame about all the things we rely on such as the net.

Welcome back SB. Not a fun thing to replace all that wiring. Helped Dad replace wiring in a house we were re-building a few years ago but that would not be as much trouble. Glad to see everyone and the house itself came out OK.

Welcome back, Breeze! I had a similar network-frying experience just a couple of months ago, so I feel your pain…
