Finished Wedding Outfit!
Well, mostly finished. I need to make a ring around the bottom of the collar of the jabot, but you can't tell from these pictures.
The kilt is a gorgeous 16 oz in Ancient Macbeth by Barb T. I've only worn it a couple times, and then for short periods, but I can't say enough good things about this kilt. It's stunning, and fits like a golve. It's incredible.
Barb sent me the piece for the plaid, I hand pearled the fringe all the way around. And now I know why that costs so much! It took me the better part of two months.
The Montrose doublet, cuffs, jabot, dirk, and plaid brooch are all by me. The doublet is wool with a linen lining, and the buttons are chrome plated with a rampant lion.

You'll notice that the dirk and sgian aren't on the same side, that's because I'm wearing the dirk in a cross-draw fashion. It makes more sense with a long blade that high on my waist.
And finally, what do you do with a 1 ounce bar of silver?

Turn it into a wedding band

Two, actually. This is mine, but I also made hers, both out of only half the bar. They were forged on the anvil, using the coal forge for heat, not a torch, except for soldering the seam. After this picture was taken I buffed them both. They'll both be engraved as well, though we're not sure with what yet. My grandma bought the silver for my grandpa years ago. He died a few years ago, so the silver is special for many reasons.
Cheers,
Nick

Nick, you are a fine craftsman and tailor. And your bride to be is getting a very special gent, especially with the meaning behind the rings and the silver they are made of. Good on ya lad! My hats off to you and your bride.

What can I say? Excellent work? Outstanding job? Looks fantastic? Nope, none of those fit, just not high enough. You'll have to settle for very nice.
