We're moving!
Yeah, I know who cares, but as many know, our move to the beautiful Windy City last year was forced due to a job change. After enduring 3 sudden deaths in our immediate family, we are moving back to "kith and kin". We will be moving back to Florida (the Tampa area) sometime in mid to late August. On the bright side, we always planned on moving back, so kept our house in FL when we moved up here, so we have a home to return to. However, the housing market has slowed and we will be facing 2 mortgage payments until we rent/sell our place here in Chicago. Hopefully it only takes a short time.
Anyway, we look forward to being back with our family and friends, although Chicago is a fun town. We have lived here twice and loved it both times (except when it is cold). We also are amazed at the heat in the summer. It is cooler in FL right now than it has been here for the past few days, and forecasted to be that way for the next few.

be sure you use P1M's how-to on kilt rolling, so you don't ruin any of them in transit!

Rob,
Sounds like you and your family will be glad to return home. Break out those light weight kilts and watch out for Alligators and Bull Sharks!

Good luck on your move. I know what a pain it can be to move. We are looking for a new house also, and just looking at all the houses is a pain. At least for me it is. My wife is in heaven looking at houses. The main problem is that she can't decide on just one. I don't know what I'm going to do.

I'm happy that you're leaving Chicago. I lived there for 45 years and I couldn't stand Chicago.
Now that I've insulted all sorts of Chicago people, let me explain.....
As I got older, every winter affected me more. It wasn't just the cold but also the snow, the ice, the commute in the winter weather, and all the cloudy days.
So to me a destination like Florida sounds SO MUCH better! Congratulations!

P.S. Also here in the desert I bet I can wear my kilt all year long.

I live a couple hundred miles north of Chicago and I wear my kilts year round with no problem. After all, kilts weren't developed in Barbados y'know.
