Today marks the 709th anniversary of the defeat of the English forces at Stirling Bridge, by the Scots forces under Sir Andrew de Moray and William Wallace in 1297. Looking up the Forth to the area where the original bridge pilings have been located, with the Wallace Monument atop Abbey Craig in the background.
Thank you! So many times Sir Andrew de Moray is forgotten.. He died from wounds received at Stirling Bridge..
