Well I finally met one of the rabble

    Gents, ladies and rapscallions:

Finally met one of y'all! Ran into Zardoz at the Texas Renaissance Festival yesterday, along with his lady and some of their friends. He was looking very sharp in a USAK Ireland's National. Come to think of it, it was kind of a USAK kind of day, as I was in my blue Ramsay semi-traditional. I saw plenty of folk from Clan McTablecloth, a shabby rabble indeed. Lots of UKs, I think I saw some of the Kommando Kilts (can't swear to it, as I didn't look close---a far glance was enough to make me avert my eyes) and, of course, a decent turnout of folks in tanks. Also saw a dozen or so of the SWK nightstalker tartans.

Big fun was had by all. With the family in tow, I didn't have as much chance to visit as I'd have liked, but it was still darn nice to be able to put a face to a name.

    Best,

    KC

    Thumbs up

Hey, K.C. ! It was good to meet you and Aggie at the TRF! The first X-Marksers I've met without leaving the state! (well.. I did meet Mark (mkmound) in Dallas, but for me that's like leaving the state!) Sorry we could not all get together at the same time! There were so many people there, we had several friends we never caught up with! It was a really nice day for it and the fair had the biggest Saturday attendance this year, they estimate over 26,000 people! So finding anyone was a quite a feat! We'll be back for the last Sunday, Celtic Christmas.

In the "small world" catagory, a friend of my blog also was there. She said next year, she's going to some thrift stores and buying up the school-girl plaid skirts and big belts and selling them there. She figured it would be more attractive than the MacTablecloth kilts she saw.

USAKilts should have a booth there.

Nice couple aren't they? Good to run into people and put a face to the typing.

I very much agree, Glen. I had the chance after our meeting them in Denver to meet up again down in Houston. That was a very enjoyable afternoon.

Sorry we missed you KC. It was easy to get lost in 26,000 people. It's possible I laid eyes on you at some point and didn't know who you were. Another time.

    Ren fest photo

Here's me with several representatives of Clan MacTablecloth in the 'bonny knees' contest, I'm easy to pick out! the lone Irishman in a group of Scot and Walmart tartans! I think the guy on the left with the woman's sash and big sword may be the Chief of MacTablecloth!
