Poll: How many X Markers Dance?

I have had several conversations in the last few days regarding dancing. From my experience it would seem that most women enjoy dancing, whilst the majority of men do not. I was wondering how many enjoy dancing amongst the ladies and gentlemen of X Marks the Scot.

So I've created this thread and poll .

For those that do, let us know what kind of dancing you enjoy. For those that don't, please share why you don't enjoy dance.

    Cheers

Well, there's that little matter of the restraining order...

No, just kidding - but last time I tried dancing, there was a hospitalization involved.

My wife and I started ballroom dancing lessons since she likes to dance and I don't like to sweat. Where I grew up they call it "round dancing." (In other words, not of the "square" variety.)

We both like dancing, and guys who don't dance just don't know how. That goofy stuff we tried to do when young made us look like frogs in a blender, so it's understandable.

But few things are finer then guiding a woman around the floor with some style and grace. And they love it! Especially if you are kilted!

The only things I can think of that are finer would be hodling your newborn child and a good dram of fine single malt.

Since High school I was always the first guy out on the dance floor for freestyle dancing. I was dragged to a line dancing class (literally) by my sister and a good friend. From line dancing I moved on to country/ western couples dancing (two step, schottische, etc). That in turn led to west coast and then east coast Swing. Next up was ballroom dancing, Victorian style ballroom, and Tango. I attempted Latin (which the Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess loves). Lastly I’ve taken up Scottish Country dancing.

I think dancing is excellent exercise, and wonderful fun.

Favorite dances: The Viennese Waltz , Tango, west coast swing
    Least Favorite dances : Latin

    Cheers

If you can tango, you're a helluva guy.

I used to thoroughly enjoy Scottish Country Dancing which was great exercise and a great social scene but we had to give it up when Ann had her stroke in 1999.

I'll get on the dance floor when necessary, but basically I'm uncoordinated and can't remember dance steps for the life of me, so its probably not a pretty sight.

The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I took one begining Tango class that we both immensely enjoyed. We know the basic steps, the turn, and a couple of dips. But we also learned the great secret to Tango which I will now share:

    With Tango, attitude is everything!

    Cheers

Waltz, cha-cha, salsa, swing, polka, and Highland. I do a lot of dancing. But my favorite, by far, is that lovely drunken 2-step we call the "Barroom Brawl".
