    ScottishKilts.net

 has anyone used this store before? I tried buying a belt and buckle from them on 11/28 and they have charged my credit card and I have yet to see a package. I have tried sending them 2 emails so far and have not yet received a reply.

I also ordered a sash from the welsh tartan center at the same time and that package arrived last week, so i know it's possible to get a package quickly from GB.

Anyway, anyone else have experience with this store?

I ordered a jacket and Waistcoat in March 05, a 8 yard traditional kilt in Dec. 05, and a dress sporran and quaich in March 06. I received all of these without issue. I did have some communication issues with them the first order, but everything was cool after that. If they haven't replied to either email try giving them a call (remember they are in Glasgow so are BST).

    Good luck

Currently waiting on a kilt from Tartanweb/Scottishkilts.net. Some of the email that they send comes through as "feedback from Irishkilts"...don't ask me...all the same company, I guess. Anyhow...ordered on November 15, put December 22 down as the date by which I would like to receive it, emailed the end of last week asking how it was going and if they were going to be able to accomodate the requested date...I got an acknowledgement of the inquiry and a promise that they would look into it on the fourteenth and I'm just waiting to hear back from them. Haven't received a statement for that card so I don't know if it's been charged yet.

Love to have it for the holidays...didn't take the possibility that they might not have a big Christmas business but that they may have a bigger demand round about Hogmany...I suppose that that might slow things down but we'll see.

A followup...not that it's important to anyone but me but I thought that it would be fair to let you know....sent an email early this morning asking for an update and got a response just before noon CST. It's been dispatched and is on its way...

I think I mentioned this in another thread. I ordered a jacket from them December two years ago (I think).

It took almost an entire year to receive the jacket. I sent emails, and at first they were answered. Then they stopped answering.

I had tried to add a waistcoat to the order, but I ended up ordering the waistcoat from someone else. Once I received the jacket--a tweed--it was very nice. In fact, I am wearing it today.

The moral of this story is: keep hounding them. I think they'll eventually deliver.

on 30 Nov, I have been waiting since 11 Oct for a kilt to be altered and returned by this organisation after it was delivered with the wrong length. I am still waiting.

I did finally get an email from them, so I guess you are all correct, it just takes some hounding.

That being said, they could have given me a tracking number or some other way to know when the package might arrive. Does GB not have the ability to track packages like we do?!?

The Continuing Tale of Argonian's Tartanweb/Scottishkilts Kilt.

It came this morning...one day ahead of the date that I requested...no customs charges (that's another thread) and there's good news and bad news.

The good news...it is really, really nice. This is a five yard Strome in Campbell of Cawdor. Now I know why everybody raves about the Strome...this is unbelievably nice fabric. The craftsmanship is most excellent...the fit is perfect...the rise is just right...the tartan lines up just about perfctly...straps are nice. I know that eight yard is the "gold standard" around here but this five yards hangs perfectly...I was looking for a rather slim fit and this is it. Super!

The bad news...you were waiting for the other shoe to drop, weren't you...I had asked for Campbell of Cawdor pleated to the red stripe...you know what's coming, right...that's right: it's pleated to the sett.

So I have to sort this one out...but wowie-kazowie...this is one nice kilt and they got it here on time...kudos.

Glad to hear the kilt showed up and emails were returned.

I am debating ordering a 5 yard from them in the new year.
