I just found a tartan identifier on house of tartan, while looking for Roudy Roddy Piper tartan for another thread. It's easy, you put in the colors in order and it returns matches. This is awesome for people like me that don't know one tartan from the next.

I think both will look nice made up into kilts.
I particularly like the red one.

Be sure to post the results!

The red one is the Maple Leaf Tartan.
From the colors it appears to be the 10.5 oz. fabric from Fraser & Kirkbright. Gordon uses a darker brown instead of a bright green in the one band. Not bad, just not the color you expect, if you are comparing it to Locharran for instance.

But that is the correct Sett for that Tartan.

Thanks wiz, I guess I have to bid on both now, the maple leaf is 4 yards, double width, wool/cotton blend.
