Anyone tried Vista?
I only went to XP a year or so ago, so i won't be rushing in, but I'm interested to know what xmarkers think.
I must confess that IE7 has lured me away from Firefox, nice browser.

I've heard mixed reviews...I would stay on XP until service pack 1 for vista, so Microsoft can collect all the bug reports from paying customers and fix what is busted ( easy way to avoid expensive pre-release testing if you ask me!)
as for switching to apple, they are great for art and music. PC's are great for business. Use whichever works best for you.

Don't know if this helps, but most folks in the IT field are saying that unless you need the new security features that VISTA brings to the table, hold off on upgrading. Personally, I will wait like others for service pack 1 prior to upgrading my personal machines (all 5 of them )

Thanks Splash, I agree with you and KKT, I have just ordered Office 2007, but have read that the files are not backward compatiable...typical!!
I'll be sticking with XP, but just curious.

Vista can be brought down by malicious SOUND files on the web. It is completely insecure, bug ridden, and is being completely lambasted by all of the real geeks whose opinions actually mean something.
It is, honestly, an extremely poor copy of OSX version 1.1 that somebody lovingly reverse engineered and broke trying to cram all of the Windows spaghetti code in to.
And read the fine print about using it. By using it, you agree to frequent inspections to your computer and your files by M$. For reasons they don't have to reveal, but it is for your own good. I'm pretty sure when the dust settles they will use the smoke screen that they are only checking for child porn and pirated files, and the only people complaining about the lack of privacy MUST be criminals.
Vista is the new spyware, malware, and Sauron's Evil Eye all rolled in to one buggy little package.
