St David's Day pics in Cardiff
Well here are some of the few pics I managed to take - I ended up carrying a flag in the parade and then my camera decided to get temperamental!
A couple of guys from Wales Tartan Centre in front of Cardiff Castle.

A singing group entertaining the folk gathering at the Mochyn Du (Black Pig) pub before the parade.
![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/McClef/dgds38.jpg)
A band of hardy Cornish people had travelled up from Cornwall to join our celebrations and they had an honoured place in the procession flying the flag of St Piran.

Another shot of our Cornish friends. I told them I had been wearing the Cornish National tartan on my visit to Stirling! It is their Saint's day (St Piran) on Monday 5th March so I shall be wearing my Cornish National kilt again on that day and urge anyone who has one to do the same.

A group of children enthusiastically waving the Draig Coch flag of Wales before the start of the parade.
Part two to follow due to image restriction...

Part two:

The Cambria drum band, proudly cilted in the Brithwe Dewi Sant.
![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/McClef/dgds46.jpg)
We even have our own mounted cavalry!
![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/McClef/dgds47.jpg)
Due to having to carry a large St David's Cross on the parade and a camera that decided to get unco-operative I wasn't able to take any pics of the parade itself so am looking forward to seeing Derek's pictures. But after the parade we naturally headed for a pub and here is Derek enjoying a well-earned pint (as I was myself of course!)
![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/McClef/dgds48.jpg)
And a touch of Welsh National ladies costume in the pub, complete with the classic stovepipe hat.
![](http://i109.photobucket.com/albums/n79/McClef/dgds49.jpg)
And I asked Derek to get a snap of me in full formal fig and Brithwe Dewi Sant!

OK that's my piccies of the day, over to Derek for the rest!

Wonderful photos!!!!! Thanks for sharing
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Fascinating photos, Trefor. Just why the English do absolutely nothing for St. George's Day I'll never know!
I'd swear that you were all sharing a table there with Anne Robinson!!!

Well there is enough time to plan that, would it be the Falls, Toronto or Ottawa?
I can sing "O Canada!" with as much enthusiasm as "Hen Wlad Fy Nhadau!

The English reserve I expect Hamish! There will be a few Morris dancers no doubt but somehow St George doesn't seem to inspire the land that owns him as its patron saint. No national tartan either!
As to the cymrophobic Miss Robinson, she wasn't there I'm pleased to say!

IF you come to Canada, make sure you swing by the east coast. We'll have a pint.....or three.
