St Davids Day .. round 2

It was great meeting up again with Trefor yesterday and he has already posted a few pics, so here's a few (loads actually) more ..
We met in Lloyds Bar first to get some atmo .. Jean made her Welsh Costume herself ..

Then we took off to the meeting point for the parade .. we found this little guy getting ready for the march too

The Welsh Drummers had just arrived

The people were starting to gather .. this was about an hour or so before the march set off

As we approached the pub there were pretty welsh girls everywhere

We went inside the pub for another beer .. the place was starting to fill up .. a really great atmosphere

This little one was eager to get started

Half hour before the march started we all has to start gathering outside
and as in Trefors pics there were children singing .. it was great

When we were outside, it was then that we met up with Trefor, who had been given a flag to fly and go up front with others in the parade .. we met up after though

This guy I believe was the main organiser of the event

Just before we set off the flags big and small were flying

There were Cilts/Kilts everywhere ..

A modern version of a Welsh Dress .. x marks out of 10 please

Then we were off ..

And set loose into the centre ..

Thats one end of the Millenium Stadium in the background .. its a huge place

We also caused large traffic queues as we went along

Heading towards the Civic Buildings where the march was to have a 'rally'

These guys n gals were great ..

Approaching the end .. The National Museum of Wales. Its undergoing a big clean up and the girls in the pic are waving at all the building contractors who are leaning over the scaffolding waving to everyone

The rally which lasted about 20 mins .. we all finished by singing The Welsh National Anthem and were then asked to ask 3 people over the next year to come on the march again and help it grow year by year. So all you X Markers who could and would like to make it, will be VERY WELCOME to come Wales and join us.

Then we all met up with Trefor again and went to one of the wetherspoons pubs for some more well earned beer

Anyhow, I hope between Trefor and myself we have been able to portray a little more about our small homeland ..
