Look what went in the mail today...

This kilt was ordered by Seatn_the_Kilted last monday or so and took a quick photo op on the way out the door to be wisked of to Germany. The unique thing is that even with the leather this kilt is machine washable. Thats right the leather is removable so that the kilt can be machine washed and dried and than ironed and pressed at home. It was a new concept to me but not that different from some of the leather work I do for SCA Armor. I thought you guys might like to see the finished product, that and I thought I would let Sean brag a bit even before it got to him.

very cool looking kilt! I like the interesting way the straps are attached, although I am not sure how I like metal snaps in my cloth. I've seen they tend to tear out after a few months of use on other garments I have.

All the pleats are sewn in and it has two under apron pockets. One for a cell phone and a larger main pocket. All the belt loops were sized for a 2.5" belt as requested and the leather straps are 6 oz vegtable tan finished in a light Mahoganey antiquing finish. All the hard wear is brass and there is a velcro attachment point on the left hip to bind the over and under aprons together. I hope you guys like it and that Sean is pleased. As for the attachment those are reinforced grommets in the kilt and the strap are attched with brass Chicago screws.
