Jonesing at an end?
OK guys, the first thing every married man should remember is his anniversary and his wifes birthday. Well, I broke the second commandment last week and plum forgot Mrs. Spalsh's birthday ! So she informs me that I will be taking her on a trip this weekend to celebrate our 17th anniversary. She then says that she wants to go to Franklin to visit the museum and then do some hiking in the Smokey Mountains.
So, where does the jonesing come in you ask??? Well, during an email conversation with Mr. Newsome, he informs me that my IoS boxpleat is done and can be picked up (my MacKinnon Ancient hunting is still working it's way over from Scotland)
So, my unknowing wife has just provided me with an end to a jones, a hiking trip in a brand new kilt and a great weekend with the most lovely woman on the planet on the same weekend! Can life get any better?
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

Yikes Mon!! If that had been me I would have been scalped, TOOT SWEET!! Mrs. Splash must be one forgiving woman. Or, she may just be warming up! Hiking in the Smokies, hmmmm mighty remote in some places away from the beaten path..... .
Just kidding! I wish you luck in making it up to her!! Enjoy your IoS, at least it will remind you

Fortunatly birthdays and anniversaries don't come every year or i'd be in a lot of trouble. Congratulations on your Isle of Skye, I'm so envious.

Now don't store this in your 'Brain-housing-unit" as positive reinforcement and try it again next year. I have a feeling this is one of those things that happens only once
Seriously though, Congrats on your many blessings

Congratulations!
We are "celebrating" 19 years today. Somehow its not as much fun with 2 young daughters (4 and 6), a large mortgage and more bills than income as it was when we were 20! Oh well, we will survive. Sorry to rain on your thread.

If you get over Asheville way on your trip don't forget to give us a holler! We've got some good hiking around here, and a pub crawl is always just a phone call (or PM) away!
