how a piper can "breath in" air from the pipes is a mystery perhaps they are blowing down the wrong pipe? -this shouldnt be a problem with a proper valve fitted to the blowstick, or synthetic bags. as for large bellies this has more to do with the beer tent than pipeing!

Honestly, people can really come up with some rubbish can't they? Those stories are several years old and I can only hope by now that the Doctor has had his license revoked and the kid in Edinburgh has been forced to live with a pipeband.

Instead of banning pipes and kilts, I would vote to ban idiots like those knuckleheads.

It's a great and endearing notion to move to someone's home and tell then to stop acting like themselves. Probably ought to drop to brogue as well.
