What's your best recent deal?
I am certainly willing to pay full retail for something I specifically want, like my Isle of Skye by Barb T, or my (nearly there) Gordon Weathered by Matt Newsome.
However, I am always looking for the best balance of price and quality. Some of us are willing to step into the great unknown to try to find this balance and risk a bid on Ebay against the possibility that the item won't fit, or otherwise live up to its billing.
So share with the rest of us what you consider to be the best buy or 2 that you have made. It doesn't have to be Ebay - it could be anything, but to the extent privacy allows, share your source and the price, along with a few details so that others can see where deals are to be had.
Most recent for me are a 16 oz Lochcarron in the Davidson tartan, purchased for $107.50 on Ebay. After moving straps and buckles, it fits like a glove, although I could wish for an extra 1/2-3/4 inch in length.
Second was my biggest coup on a retail price to price-paid basis. This is a dress sgian dubh with a faux smokey quartz stone by Celtic Art Ltd. of Glasgow. Retail is $200. Price paid, $16.95
Sing out and share!!

My best recently was my Freelander sporran. Given the amount of use it has gotten lately, the direct level of service, and the price paid, it was a screaming deal . I wish I could have said my newest kilt, but after all the back and forth, it's been a bit less than a deal than I had hoped. I don't do ebay, so I won't be finding any $107 kilts in the near future.
I am looking forward to the BC Highland games as they always have a few really good deals on the tables. Last year they had $25 Sgian dughs and $40 dirks (yes, you very likely get what you pay for,but it's all for show) I think the Irn Bru was selling for the same price

Mine would be the St David's PC Jacket from the Wales Tartan Centre.
It cost £89, ex rental but at it is £299 new and in excellent condition, a real bargain!
Piccies being posted separately.

I would say the best "deal" i have got lately would have to be my Harris Tweed Argyle that I got on Consignment from The Wee Tartan Shoppe in Port Perry:

Here is a picture of it:
Oh yea did I mention I paid $40.00 Canadian for it?

Ya gotta love those thrift stores. I suspect you Canucks get a few more Scottish items there than we do here in Georgia.

Yea but this was not a thrift store it's a tartan shop that has consignment items in the back, new stuff up front.

My new cotton twill rosemary R-Kilt with the beautiful ranger belt was a great deal. Fantastic kilt...absolute value for money!
Only lucky bargain I found...MacLaren tartan hose for 50 euros in a bargain bin.
Want a bargain? First XMarker to send me a PM can get one of my dirk pins...of your choise...for € 20,00 (=26,85 USD) + P&P....normal price is € 32,50 euros (=43,65 USD)

I would have to say the two sgian dubhs that I made, and the less the $100 PC conversion and waistcoat from the left over material that Jude is currently working on.

Best deal so far has been 4 metres of 18 oz double-width MacKenzie Modern from Fraser & Kirkbright. I don't remember the exact price but it ended up somewhere around $15/metre.

The only sgian dubh I have is one I got for $9 at the Milwaukee Highland Games. Looks good, strong and sturdy, sheath fits perfectly, and it was cheap! Seriously, this was the best deal I ever got. I hope they have more deals like that at the MHG next week...
