Lookie What I Got!!!
Look what I got in the mail yesterday! My very first sewing machine. Thankyou Alan H. Now I've got to find some cheap tartan yardage to be mangled. No really, I'm going to TRY and make a mini kilt. I'll post pics of the progress, if you could really call it that..LOL
Here it is!
This is Inokuma and I looking through all the neat little thinga jigs in the drawer. (I really don't have anything in my hair, it's just a dirty lense)
I don't know what this thingie is, but it looks like fun.

Congratulations on the new machine
That is a "seam ripper." Now for the big money can you guess what it's used for?

Woo Hoo! Congrats on the new machine and the 'creations' that will come from it!

Oh, boy... are you ever gonna have fun! And, hey, progress is progress. Even the longest journey begins with but one step. Two words for that sharp, pointy thingie - your friend
Happy stitching.

Ahhhh...this is gonna be FUN to watch. I am *SO* looking forward to this.
OK, everybody get this....Dirka had to ask what a seam ripper was, and hasn't a clue what "presser feet" on the sewing machine are. In other words, the lovely Dirka (and lovely she is, too... makeup or no makeup) doesn't know DIDDLY about sewing and sewing machines.
That machine cost $19.99 plus shipping off of ebay. I had it sent to my home and I tested it to make sure everything worked. I didn't have time to write a manual, so I told Dirka to search online for a manual for the Brother 810. That machine has mostly metal parts where it counts, does straight stitch (variable stitch length) and zig-zag (variable stitch length and variable width).. In other words, everything you need to turn out a great kilt or kilted skirt.
...and it was $20 off of ebay. TWENTY BUCKS.
Dirka is gonna make a killer skirt, and I bet between her and Dirk and Inokuma I bet there will be a couple more skirts and a kilt for Dirk, and maybe a kilt for Dirka's man coming off of that machine in the next few months.
AND.................She Doesn't Know How to Use a Sewing Machine
Do you twig that? Read it again.
If Dirka can do it, you can do it. though you might not look as good, with no makeup on, as she does while she's at it!
