Vancouver nightlife?.....

Hi folks,
In about a months time my missus and I will have a couple of nights in Vancouver, would like some suggestions for decent nightlife. We found the lamplighter in Gastown by chance last time
Live music (rock / metal) would be good or even just a good metal pub.
My friend from Toronto turned me on to 'Lowest Of The Low', so anything similar would be cool too, even though its not that heavy

Hey Rudi, welcome to the forum! I would suggest the first thing you do when you get to town is grab a copy of "The Georgia Straight". It's a local paper that lists all the clubs in town and who is playing. If you are looking for a kilted night out send a PM to Raphael. He is in Vancouver for kilt nights quite regularly and drop me a line as your arrival date gets closer. Safe journey!

I know this is a thread about the nightlife in Vancouver, but if you had free time during the day and wanted to go to the Vancouver Aquarium let me know! I'm pretty sure there are still some people there I know and could hook you and your missus up.
