    Yavapai County Fair

Got free passes to the county fair because I'm a county employee. The fair is just down the road from the house, so we loaded up the kids and some friends and went last night. No pics, as it was already dark by the time we left.

It was a pretty standard county fair, with carnival rides, animal and art exhibitions, an antique tractor pull. There were also some really bad local bands playing and a bunch of people wandering around yelling "WHERE ARE YOU?" into cell phones.

I wore my Weathered MacKenzie SWK. I got several "Nice kilts!", three people who wanted to know what tartan it was, including one elderly lady who knew it was MacKenzie, but didn't recognize the weathered colors. She then proceeded to tell me about the kirkin' of the tartans at her church.

The most interesting response was from the guy who looked at it and said "I'd call it a skirt, but I'd probably get kilt."

Kirkin of the tartans in Prescott? How very cool.

Before long there'll be a Prescott tartan.

Is there a Bonner tartan after Junior and the gang?

Maybe they can replace the long gone Smoki with a pipe band.

I don't think she was from Prescott. I think she was visiting from Phoenix, but I could be wrong. There are enough Scots in the area to hold a highland games every year.
