X Marks Tartan Vest with X Marks Kilt
A long time ago Kathy Lare also sewed up an X Marks the Scot tartan vest for me.
Back then Matt Newsome had suggested having the tartan cut on the bias. Kathy Lare recommended it as she sewed it. I was learning to trust my kilt/vest maker and did.
My original intent was to wear it with solid color kilts. This weekend, was headed down to the Hopi reservation to see my lady and decided there'd be no kilt police there so wore it with my X Marks kilt.
Here's a pic on the mesa above Low Mountain, AZ.
Might help me get found by X Marks bretheren easier at highland games eh?

Ron that looks great. Especially since Kathy managed to line up the vertical white stripes on the apron and the vest. That is a classic look.

Ron,
That's terrific! You are indeed the Hamish of the West (of the pond). I wonder what white hose would have looked?

I tend to agree with Matt on this one Ron. It looks like Kathy did a great job, but my preference if I ever get a tartan vest will be to have it on the bias.

Looking good Ron. I like the way Kathy cut it. Now imagine that with a Thorfinn w/ X Marks tartan?

Matt has a picture on his site of him in a matching tartan kilt and vest. Since seeing that I have been convinced it looks great. This reaffirms that sentiment.

Looking good Ron! I imagine it would look wonderful in a dress occasion with a Sheffimuir jacket!

Usually, I would agree with cutting on the bias, but that outfit works for you. Especially with the sett lined up above and below.

This is something the world definitely needs to see: Ron in a Sheriffmuir, X-Marks tartan vest, and a jabot.
