Landship book recommendation
Off topic and not kilt related. Unless, of course you include that the regimental tartan of the Royal Tank Regiment is Hunting Rose.
I've always been awed by first world war tanks ever since seeing one at the Imperial War Museum in London as a small child. Not much info is available on the amazing machines. I just bought a book from ebay. It is sold and signed by the author. I have yet to read it but it is full of pictures and line drawings of all the British tank, actually produced and those that never got off of the drawing board. Paperback, 189 pages and 1000 copies produced.

8 men in a small compartment, exposed engine, unmuffled exhaust, no ventilation with petrol and exhaust fumes? Yes. real guts.

The last drivable WW1 tank was moved out of Bovington Tank Museum and onto a transporter to be taken to London for the Lord Mayor's parade - must be only in the last couple of weeks.
Really noisy outside, can't imagine what it was like inside.
After travelling a mile or so the exhaust glowed red hot.
