This is really off topic...I didn't even wear a kilt to the theatre...but my mom popped for a block of tickets and took the whole family to see Jersey Boys at the LaSalle Bank Theatre (it's really the Schubert Theatre but they keep changing the names to pay off whoever did the latest renovation of the theatre) last night.

Now, The Four Seasons are okay in my book...not one of my most favorite bands but I don't change the station on the radio when they come on...but I really had no interest in seeing this show. I thought that it was going to be too much of a nostalgia thing...and it was to a degree...but it's really outstanding and I was surprised. Should you get the chance to see the show, it wouldn't be a waste of time. Story of the Four Seasons complete with all the requisite songs but the hook is that each member of the group takes his turn telling his version of events to the audience...works really well. Also, most of the cast members are also the musicians who are playing the score so they wander on and off stage either playing or being a supporting character...very effective.

Don't want to set myself up as the theatre critic but I just have to publicly admit that I had low expectations of this one but I was sorely mistaken.

Best
