Isle of Skye
Howdy all.
I've been looking into getting a Isle of Skye done up, but I have a question. I've seen many people listing Isle of Skye Ancient and Modern, however, I cannot find a visual example of either.
I've been to the weaver's sites, but something on my computer or browser won't let the pictures pop up. So if someone can point me to a picture of each, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance.

If you do a search you should find several pictures of the IoS tartan on Xmarks.

Here are a couple of pics of an Isle of Skye kilt that I made for Turpin last year. And, as far as I know, Isle of Skye only comes in one version. Some places list a modern and an ancient, but they look identical to me. I've never seen an Isle of Skye that didn't look like this tartan.

Every time I see that tartan I am reminded of how great it looks.

I have to say, Isle of Skye is probably my favorite tartan.

Here is mine, when I asked for the Isle of Skye there was one swatch to choose from, Isle of Skye no Ancent no Modern what you see is what you get. I've since heard of the Ancient and Modern, however like Barb I've not seen a difference in them. It has however remained my favorite tartan and my favourite kilt, a good choice sir.

Ah, no. Before I sent the kilt to Turpin, I had my son-in-law model it for some of the figures in the 2nd printing of The Art of Kiltmaking.

McMurdo, it looks like yours is pleated to the set rather than the stripe.

Yes pleated to the sett, I thought it might help to see it another way.
