Emergency Hose
I need a pair of Black or Charcoal hose to match my Standard Nightstalker from SWK...I know, I know, I should've ordered them when I ordered the kilt, but I really thought I would have my Maple Leaf by now and was planning on wearing that to our Kilt Night.
Any suggestions??? I really need an alternative solution...Does anyone know where I can get a pair of Black or Charcoal colored hose in Houston, Texas???
Emergency...Please help!

Not always the best choice but for an emergency there is always the local Athletic goods store. Soccer socks often reach the knee and can be folded over. The main question is the size of your leg. Even though it is a athletic store they seem to think that you have no size to the calf.
Worst come to worst you could contact Ron Popeil and see if the RONCO hair in a can will work to paint your legs black.
Good luck and good to have you back in country.

I don't know if Houston sells winter boot socks, but this time of year around these parts I see a lot of heavy, slighty taller, dark socks in the sporting goods and underthings departments. In a real pinch, you could go casual with boots and a pair of something like these.
Good luck,
Rex.

Chase call the Celtic shop in the Village by Rice. Last time I was there they had different colours.

Welcome home, Chase!
Ski socks, if you can find a color that looks decent. Many are 2-tone or multi-color. I have a pair of Wigwams in charcoal on black that do OK for casual, but not for Sunday go-to-meeting. Look for end-of-season sales.
Target: for 4 bucks you can probably find some nice charcoal over-the-calf dress socks that will look decent. They'll stay up without garters, which is a good thing---my pair only gives up about 1 inch for a cuff. These, I actually did wear to church on Sunday. ![Smile](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_smile.gif)
My local Target also has some inexpensive black and navy OTC socks in "bamboo viscose" fiber. These are pretty thin, but reasonably opaque; no cuff on my leg, but they look OK. Two pairs for 4 dollars is hard to beat.

If you have an extra pair of your white/off white standard kilt hose that everyone seems to get to begin with, dye them the color you need. Quick, simple and very inexpensive.

Go to a sports shop and get some football (soccer) or rugby socks.
They will do in a pinch and they are very comfortable.

MrBill
I was there in the fall, and I don't recall any kilt hose. But, I could be wrong... Worth a call at least.

I'm sure the Celtic Croft or the Scottish Tartans Museum have black kilt hose.
See if one or the other could do overnight shipping.

Soccer sox - Rugby sox - Football sox - Ski sox can all work in a pinch, and get good use in the warm weather too.
Target, Wallmart, local sports store should do it.
Isn't it cool having all these options? It really is the land of the Big-PX.
