    Exclamation Help with embroidery file

    Hello,
As I have stated before, I work for a non-profit in one of their small branch offices. Our office is looking to have some apparel made for special events and for volunteer recognition. The staff is paying for all of their own apparel and we are using our small volunteer recognition budget for the volunteer’s shirts.
Now here is where I need help. The company that is going to do the embroidery for us is going to charge us a $150 conversion fee unless we can find our logo in a .DFT (or is it .DFP). The conversion fee will eat up most of our volunteer budget.
Is there any software I can find online that can help me convert our logo myself to save us money??
    Thanks,
    Sara

Here's a link to a free embroidery digitizing program. http://www.thredworks.com/

You might want to e-mail them before downloading to confirm the file extension id .DFT or .DFP

I believe the File Extension you are referring to is .DST which refers to two Applications.
Tajima Sewing Machine Embroidery Stitch File
    and Home Embroidery Stitch File.
Both are used with Tajima machines and Tajima machines only.

That is the problem with machine embroidery right now, there is no standard or accepted file format. Each machine manufacturer and each embroidery program has its own file format.

If you would like, send me your Logo in a regular digital picture format such as a .pdf, .bmp, .jpg or .gif and I will see if I can do your Logos on my machine.

At the lease I can digitize it for you, save it as a .JEF and .SEW format which can be recognized by another machine or converted to a different format by a third party program.

As you are a non-profit group and volunteers I may also be able to produce your items for a more reasonable cost as I won't charge you for the digitizing. Plus, you are a member here and that counts for something.

I can't guarantee that my machine will do as nice a job as a professional machine but here is a sample of what it is capable of doing.

I used an online digitizing company called http://www.123digitizing.com to do the belt logo digitizing for our martial arts club, I was very pleased with the cost and quality.
