Shameless Bump...
If you guys are in the Philly area and looking for something to do this weekend, come on out! The weather is supposed to be good tomorrow!

I'm seriously thinking about it. It sounds like a fun time. Though I might stay home if it pours rain like it is today. Anyone else going?

I am waiting on the weather as well.
I am torn between this and the Twin Tier's Kilt Night!

We had a great time last year, and are definitely coming up today. I do wish Albannach was going to be playing again this year... they are fantastic.

For those of you who made it, you know that the rain held off, and it was not nearly as hot and humid as last year. Another great show, and a great festival all around. The vendors were a nice mix, and there were meat pies to be had and I went home with a few dozen frozen ones. I did not see as many kilts as last year, and actually if you exclude the pipe band, there were more contemporary kilts to be seen than traditional tartan kilts.
Rocky and Kelly were kicking butt in the shop. Must be that high energy drink they were selling called Iron-Bru. You could barely get in the door! Although busy, they always seem to have time for a quick hello and a little chat without ever missing a beat in servicing every customer coming in the place. Rocky, Kelly, thanks again for a great time – looking forward to the third annual festival.
PS: Bring back Albanach!

Nice!
I would like to add my appreciation for the event!
I got there a bit later than I wanted, because, I-95 N in Delaware was being paved and was closed down to one lane, significantly gumming up the works in northern Delaware and effectively blocking traffic from Maryland...
Anyway, after getting to Phoenixville, it did indeed hold off raining as long as I was there, and I enjoyed looking at the vendors and listening to the music, along with the food. Nice!
I wanted to wear my kilt, but didn't, no great excuse there. I agree that the kilted were a great minority, and I saw more casual kilts than traditional ones. I chatted with a few people and also visiting the (two) clan tents and chatted with each group. Fun!
I visited USA kilts, though I didn't reveal to Rocky that I was an XMTS member, since it was so busy! Anyway, he did measure me for my first semi-trad (though I'll have to wait on some cash before I can place the order). I looked at his tartan swatch samples and I was really impressed with the PV kilts and the PV tartan material, which I had never beheld in person before (or hadn't been aware anyway!). It was really high quality and looked (and felt) great! I compared the American Heritage (in kilted form) and the Buccleuch tartan (swatch), I'm on the fence about my decision there. I will likely get the Buccleuch first because I really want a kilt in "woodland" colors for some hiking... likely I will get the AH later, though, because I love it!
Anyway, I also picked up some kilt hose and some kilt flashes, and called it a day with some bridies and other "fair food"!
Thanks to Rocky and Kelly and all who helped organize it!

The festival went off extremely well. When you partner up with someone who knows what they're doing (East of the Hebrides Entertainment), it goes a WHOLE lot smoother.
The festival itself drew about as many as it did last year (some accounts were a little more), which was no small feat seeing that we DIDN'T have Albannach this year. We'll DEFINITELY try to get them for next year... the limiting factor is if they will be in the US. This year they weren't around, so we couldn't get them.
Yes, we still have a few Irn Brus left... if you want any, stock up now as we don't normally carry them.
Kyle... glad you were impressed with the PV material. It's tough to "take our word" for things like material quality when there are so many different "quality levels" out there in the lower end of the market. Let me know when you're ready for your Buccleuch!
Thanks to those that came out and made it another great year!
Robert... I expect YOU here next year as well! What's a 10 hour ride between friends?
