KILT KAMP 2008 -- Franklin, NC
That's right, gang. You read the title right. Kilt Kamp 2008 is on, and will be hosted this year by the Scottish Tartans Museum in Franklin, NC.
The dates are June 9-13, which is the week right before our annual Taste of Scotland Festival. Come for the Kamp. Stay for the Festival!
Here is the web site with all the info:
http://kiltkamp.scottishtartans.org/index.html
What more can I say? Read the web site. Come to Kilt Kamp!
Registration for the full 5-day kamp is limited to the first 12 registrants, so don't delay if you plan on coming. Friday's scheduled semianars are open to the public, no limit other than how many folding chairs we can find (and then there is standing room....)
Yay!

Cool!!! Although I probably won't do the whole week, I ought to be able to do the long weekend. I already checked and the 13th is my Friday off.

Oh wow. That would be fantastic. I don't know if I could realistically pull that off, but I want to go!

AHHHHHHH! I want to go, but that is one of the few weeks that I can't take off!
Sometimes I think life is mocking me
To all of the lucky ones that get to go, congratulations, and I'm jealous!

Our staffing at work is such that only a couple of people can be off at the same time during the summer - I could make Monday through Wednesday, but ...
If you're not swamped by X-Markers, we have until mid-May to register, right? (Just in case my schedule opens up.)

Hmmmm, probably can't make the camp, but I could get up for the Friday event.
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon

You actually can register up till May 31, which is the absolute cut off date for the Kilt Kamp. (You get a discount for registering before May 12, though).
But, the actual 5-day Kilt Kamp is limited to 12 people, so that cut-off date might be cut short if we get a strong response. The moral is, register early if you are sure you plan on coming. But if those 12 slots don't all fill, you can register up to the end of May.
The Friday seminars are not as limited on space, so we can take registrations for Friday right up until the time, and I also anticipate taking admissions at the door, as well.
