Yeesh, good luck. Unless you buy a solid maroon kilt, you may be out of luck. I can't think of any tartan with maroon in it.
If it were me, I'd wear the Buchanan kilt. You don't always have to match, and besides, this is your family man!

Sounds like you need this quickly, in which case Stillwater is a good choice. The NightStalker Black or Green would both go well with a maroon dress, but they are not traditional tartan designs (rather they appear solid, unless you look closely), so you have to decide if this is your comfort level or not. I have a lovely mini, made by AlanH in Lindsey tartan which is maroony, but I'm not sure where to get one quickly in this tartan. Black Watch would also go well, and is usually easily available from many folks.
Be well,

I'm always going to be one of those who makes the Nightstalker recommendation too, but considering time is of the essence, it might not be an option unless Dowofbuchanan is of a 'certain size'. I'm guessing that Black Watch idea might be the best bet, dow, unless this is the kind of thing you had in mind...

I too was thinking of a Stillwater Nightstalker, or even an Economy in black. Tough to say though. If it were me I think I would wear the Buchanan.

Go look at USAK for the Gray Granite. I don't know, but sometimes Rocky has off the rack casuals. I'm thinking the grey might jive with the maroon, but I'm not sure.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

I wouldn't go thinking that being less than a 46 makes you less of a man! It just means that all the other sizes sold out (which, of course, means that those are the popular sizes )

I'm suprised about the sizing. My dear husband has 2, no, wait...3, no, wait...5 Stillwaters and he's a 32" waist I believe. Are you sure there's nothing less than a 46?

Be well,
Not in a Nightstalker. From recent correspondence, Jerry says he's waiting for new stock but has no dates yet. Many of the Stillwaters have been sold out in the 'popular' sizes for a little while now
