I think the pelts are REALLY nice. I would leave off the tassles though, were they mine. And, perhaps an edge treatment on the flaps... they look a little unfinished. Anyway, pretty cool.

McFarkus,
Actually, it a she... Before I met her in January she did not know what a sporran was. I met her at a Indian POW WOW in Lakeland Florida, she sells fur pelts. After talking with her I found out she makes pursers. I took her some sporrans to the next show in Deland Florida, so she could see what I was Talking about. She made four for me the first time A Skunk, Coyote, Badger and a White Artic Fox.

At the first Highland Game, Zephryhills I sold the White Artic Fox for $175.
The second Feast, Tampa Bay Ren Feast I sold the Skunk for $150.
The Third weekend, Sarasota Highland Games I sold the Red Fox $175.
So far I have sold one each weekend.
My second order was a White Artic Fox and a Red Fox.
My third order was Silver Mink, Brown Mink, Skunk and a Badger.
I love them, they are soft, very well made.

Tattoo Bradley,
The tassles are easy to remove and the fur would cover the small holes..
As far as the flap, what are you thinking maybe a stiching around the edge or what?
Thank you for the feed back...

Maybe a braided edge? I think that would make a world of difference.

I second TB on that. The edges do need some kind of finishing. At the very least a crease but some decorative stitching in a complimentary color would make them really pop. They look good though, and have me itching to make my own.

Those do look pretty danged good. I wonder how difficult it is to get pelts, is there a good source here in the states for craftsmen?

Michaelbeeman,
I have found it hard in Florida to find good quality pelts.
My Native American lady has a home in Florida and Upper New York State.
I look forward to going up to see her this summer, she is good to make me a sporran out of Grizzle Bear. I have to fly up to get it because you can not sell it here in Florida.
