Another ebay treasure
I just won this kilt pin. Too bad the boar is a Campbell symbol and my allegiance to that clan is a bit tenuous. I am amazed at the price this went for given its age and that it is silver.
Not to mention all those Campbells out there.

Well, if your worried about your tenuous link to the Campbells I'll gladly remove the source of worry. It is a beautiful piece.

I am tempted to re-auction it on US ebay and advertise that here. On the other hand, I like it and wouldn't be the first Campbell-Bannerman in my family.

OOOH, I'm glad I didn't see that one, or there may have been a bidding war! Congratulations, it's a fine find.

I wish there had been a bidding war. The sniper wasn't very good at his strategy. In other words, sniping isn't always the best way to win, especially if current bidder has a higher bid in. The sniper should have done an exploratory bid. Anyway, I had only bid £24 for it and was surprised to not be outbid. I was keen on it, but not £24+ keen on it.
I feel guilty for not mentioning it here before close of auction. Then again, it pays to skulk in UK eBay for kilt related gear. Especially if it's this unusual kilt pin. Good bargains and treasures can be had.
Although, I am a little bummed about the Royal Stewart Kilt I won. I didn't think I had that high a bid. Anyway, a brand new kilt from Bugpiper would have been nice. Easier to accessories with fly plaid and/or vest.
