Yesterday I had my evaluation at work, which is a big deal since I recently got promoted. If I didn't pass this evaluation, I'd be sent back to my old position, and the significantly lower pay that goes with it.

The good news is, I passed! I get to stay where I am and make decent money! I have to wait until the end of the school year before I'm "officially permanent" in my new classification, but now it's just a waiting game.

Here's the better news: I can wear a kilt to work! As long as I was talking with my boss anyway, I asked. He said that as long as I wear it modestly, and can do my job in it (which can include physically restraining students as big as or bigger than me... hence the modesty bening important) it's not a problem.

I didn't think it would be an issue, as our district is all about "cultural diversity" and I wore a kilt frequently at my old job, but I just wanted to get the go ahead from my new boss, especially since I'm not technically "permanent" yet.

So, this coming Friday I'm wearing my budget Black Watch, a DKM shirt, and my Docs, and I'm going out celebrating after work.
