Celtic Tigers
So, after a day at Little Beach and the wild and crazy but funky hippie throwback drumming circle and firedancers at dusk the family ajourned to Mulligan's on the Blue where The Celtic Tigers were playing. You can easily understand why they chose the name Tigers. Very aggressive, hard driving Irish music. Lots of folks there and dancing on a small floor in front of the band. Just intense energy. Was so cool to see my brother and sisters soaking up their Irish heritage too.
Was kilted in my Caledonia USA Kilts Semi-trad and the olde boy had them pleats swinging on the dance floor for a little bit. After the band finished for the evening the Irish flute player came over and thanked me for wearing the kilt. That was nice.
The flute player had a wide assortment of flutes he played and the guitar guy probably used to play for the Stones...incredible how much energy he put into each song. They also have a drummer and an electric fiddleplayer.
Almost bought the CD they were selling but decided it wouldn't be a good idea. The music is sooooo intense I just know I'd wind up getting a speeding ticket back on the rez if I were listening to it when driving.
