Good Cigar suggestions...
Hey yall,
I'm currently sitting on my porch smoking a great cigar, a Cohiba Extra Vigaroso , and I love the Cohiba brand, also I enjoy CAO, Rockey Patel, Monte Cristo, Romeo y Julieta, and Punch. I was wondering if anyone could suggest to me any other good Cigars that they've had, since I've only been smoking them for 2 years now I haven't tried everything and wanted some suggestions from any one of what I should try next.

I suggest two things:
(1) subscribe to Cigar Magazine. Their website is ..here..
(2) Get some of the low priced assortment packs as offered by one of the big companies like Thompson or JR ..here.. or ..here..
You really need to make your own choices!!! Everyone's tastes are different.
But - You might try Padron, Macanudo, or La Gloria. I like them!

Jay, Glad to see there's more than one cigar lover on here... I'm a tobacconist (seven years now) and really love a good, full-bodied smoke. La Gloria Cubana Serie R No. 6 Maduro comes immediately to mind. I also like the Camacho Corojo series, as well as CAO Brazilia. My lighter cigar choice would be a Padron (standard series -- any size but 6000/7000, for some reason I just don't like them), and this is by no means a light cigar, but a nice medium.
Feel free to PM me if you've any cigar questions.

Dumb question. Are those cubans? Or do they use the same brand names for honduran cigars?

Rob,
Many Cuban refugees arriving in the US in the early 60s arrived with very little cash, and sometimes only owning a cigar tradename, sometimes this was sold for needed cash, sometimes not. So, yes... their are Punch cigars from Cuba, and from Honduras. Same with Hoya de Monterrey and many other brands. (Punch and Hoya de Monterrey are brands, in the US, of General Cigar, which I believe is now owned by Swedish Match, and are both made in Honduras.)
I'm always glad to answer questions, so ask away!

I just picked up a box of the Perdomo Lot 23's belicosos, and they're very nice. I also like the AVO Domaine.
I was at a tabacconist the other day, and they were launching the new Churchill (the brand/line, not size, obviously) made by Davidoff. I'm curious to try one, but I had already picked up a box, and a few tins of pipe tobacco, so I took a pass.

Another cigar smoker. Yeaah!!!
Ghurka G3 Toro Maduro 6x52 is my current brand. I get them from Jr. Cigars. They are the Jr. Alternatives and run about $33 for 20. The only difference between the Jr.s and the real thing is the $ I get to keep in MY pocket. Rocky Patel The Edge, or LaGloria Cubana Serie R #5 Maduro. Jr, Thompson, and Cigar King all have 5 packs you can buy and sample. I guess I'm still looking for that one cigar that will suit me. Sorta like kilts!!!

Hey guys, I'm not a moderator or anything. But this is way off the topic of kilts AND there's a perfectly good section of The Pub dedicated to tobacco which is just begging for posts.

Sorry to say, I just don't have time for any more forums to check, so if it wasn't here, I wouldn't see it.
