Well I finaly did it! no more excuses
I've been telling myself I want to wear my kilt more but was using the excuse (kind of a valid one I think) that I didn't want to wear my tank out to restaurants and such for fear of damage. Well I just finished ordering a SWK and a Sport kilt ....so now no more excuses ......wish me luck

I got a Black Stuart Standard from SWK and a works kilt in my family tartan from sport kilt ( MacEwan Modern) my tank is a Geoffrey(Tailor) in MacEwan ancient. I had a few other cheapies that looked like skirts that I got rid of. All the learning I'm getting on this site is making me recognize the difference in quality.
I work for Cal Fire and as many of you might know California has something like 1400 fires burning right now, anyhow I have been held on duty for the last 20+ days and one of our firefighters is going to get married here at the fire station because he can't get off duty. When I told some of the guys here at the station that I was going to wear a kilt they all decided to jump on the bandwagon and buy kilts for the wedding. So I might have added a few more to the kilt club.
regards
Tom

just4fun,
Sounds like you've found your way deeper into the addiction, and maybe even brought a few friends.
Also, having been recently in Yosemite and seen what the smoke is like I want to thank you for your efforts at keeping CA from burning up.
Cheers,

Just FYI, I purchased an 8 yard, 13 ounce, tank in 2003. I have slept in it, swam in it (fell in a river), played football in it, done gardening in it, and wore it daily for over a year. Today that tank still looks good enough to wear to a wedding, after some ironing of course, and I'm still quite amazed. A properly made tank can take quite a lot of abuse and still look good.
