    Monterey Highland Games -Pictures

Yesterday and Today the Monterey Highland Games were held in Toro Park Salinas. Members of the Nor Cal Rabble attended and enjoyed the mild weather. These games are among the smaller of the ones held here in our neck of the woods but they are always pleasant. The Flame-Haired Celtic Amazon Goddess and I packed up the kids and way2fractious this morning and headed down to cheer on visiting Yaish who was competing in B class.

The Nor Cal Rabble took a few pictures (as usual) and the F-H.C.A.G and I thought we would start things off with a few of ours.

Before we could even get past the parking lot the kids had to stop to play "Super Mario World" in the playground

    Mario

    Luigi

These kids had to join in the fun

    sigh

We met walkerk and Madalyne with Madalyne's sister and her son and proceeded to set up base camp under the shade of a big sycamore tree

    More to come

We met up with Yaish and his lovely wife and watched him throw very well. I imagine that we can expect an upcoming detailed report in the Highland Athletes forum.

Kent, and Yaish's lovely Flame-Haired bride

    Stone

    Hammer

I wondered if I had it in me to be a Highland Athlete

The obvious answer here would be a resounding NO!

The F-H.C.A.G. practices her caber tossing skills

Xena was very taken with the Irish dancers and step danced about for the better part of the morning

    More to come

It was our great pleasure to lift a glass with X Marker Celtic Cyclist

A very nice guy and he and way2fractious have far too much in common (FYI: serious cyclists are very strange folk! )

It was a pleasure meeting you Jim and we hope that we can get you to more events with the Nor Cal Rabble (He is wearing a USA Kilt in the Army Tartan)

At the end of the day we all gathered round to congratulate Yaish for an excellent showing (he had several personal bests this day!) We were happy to see you again in our neck of the woods Yaish!

    Way to Go JET JAGUAR!

I don't have any more photos! That was everything...

    Well...

Err...well...except for what the kids found in the tree...

    ...and what happened afterwards!

    Cheers

Personally, I suspect Jerry at SWK is at the heart of this horror!

So cool to see Sinbad sporting the vest in lieu of a sporran look!
