    Boston Mass Kilt Tailor Recommendations

I need alterations done to a quality traditional kilt that was just gifted to me. Anyone know affordable but knowledgeable kilt tailors in the Boston area?

The person that gifted the kilt to me pointed out all the cool things that make this kilt a quality one and I hate to just put it into the hands of just any tailor. The two tailors I checked into so far didn't fill me with any confidence that they wouldn't butcher the thing.

    Thanks.

If you don't find a local kiltmaker, any of the kiltmakers on this forum can mak the alterations you need. You would have to provide only the measurements they ask for, generally waist, hip, and length.

If the alterations needed are substantial, however, you could be looking at significant labor costs. And if the kilt is handsewn you want the alterations to be done that way as well.

Thanks for that guidance. Hoping I do find someone in this city to keep it local. If that doesn't happen, are the 'resident' kiltmakers corralled in a certain corner of X?

Why not contact www.highlandisland.com? They're in Gt.Barrington, ME, but they travel to all the highland games in the New England states. They might know someone in your area that can help you with your kilt.

I remember calling her a few months ago; was looking to see if the Atholl Brose was open, which unfortunately it wasn't. She did say she still had active connections to different vendors, and I think she said she'd take orders. No shop though.

    Atholl Brose

"Atholl Brose" is listed as vendor for this year's Maine Highland Games scheduled for the 16th. However the list provides no contact information.
