An update after a long absence
Hello to everyone! It's been ages since I last posted, and I haven't been on much recently, so I thought I'd post an update.
I'm still living in England, and my MA is nearly done. I printed out a draft of my final research project today and am editing it. It's due in August, and is the last thing due for the course. I've also turned in my application and proposal for the PhD, and have a meeting about it in early August.
Cassie and I went down to London to see 'King Lear' at the Globe, which was out of this world. We were right up on the edge of the stage. Here's a few pictures:

My wife's a Shakespearian. She was very excited.

We did a lot of other things in London, went to the British Museum, British Library, Hyde Park, the Tower of London, and Portobello Road. But a long weekend wan't enough for even one thing, so we'll have to go back.
We've been up to York a couple times as well. Of all the places I've been here, I think York is my favorite.
Haven't been up to Scotland yet, though I will eventually if we stay. I did see Scotland, though, on an excursion to Hadrian's Wall.
I've been stuck in trousers much of the time, partly because I only have my SWK to wear, which is really starting to show its mileage, and also Leeds is a really windy city. If I had my tank I wouldn't worry about it so much, but the SWK is on the light side.
Cheers!
Nick

Nick,
Welcome back. Ach, laddie too windy is not an excuse for wearing the kilt! Just get a heavier kilt pin!
Just kidding, sounds like a great whirlwind of a weekend, I'm jealous.

I am delighted that you are enjoying yourselves here and it is interesting to me to hear how visitors see us and our country.

Nick - great to see you posting again. And to find you are well on your way to finishing your Masters. Are you planning on posting your research somewhere?

Good to hear from you again Nick, and I have to agree with you - a long week end is certainly not long enough to see London. I lived near Hyde Park for over ten years and I still did not get to many of the museums, art galleries and other attractions!
Enjoy what remains of your time over here, and if you are returning to London give me a shout - I enjoy excuses to visit the capital!!
Take care,
Ham.

Brian, not sure what I'll do with my research project yet. Part of it may get turned into a paper for the International Medieval Congress (which is hosted by Leeds Uni), though I'd like to publish it in full at some point if I can.
Cheers,
Nick
