I can't say for Florida, but in NY it seemed a better idea to just sleep in.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

I was able to make it into work today. Yesterday, on the other hand, I couldn't brave the streets near my work. There was so much standing water that I simply couldn't risk it. I love my car too much. I made it all they way to 518 and had to turn back thanks to Sarno and all the surrounding streets completely flooded. Today, however, I made it in. She let up just enough over the night in Melbourne to allow the waters to recede a bit.
Interesting storm we are having eh George? Fay just seems to want to hang out and dump rain on us.

Yeah. My girlfriend (who works in politics) was so stubborn, she walked to the front of her neighborhood and had somebody pick her up. I don't imagine she'll win too many voters over by being out in this weather.

I'm in Tampa and the rain just started here last night. In fact when I picked my daughter up from Tae Kwon Do it wasn't raining yet when we walked outside but about 30 feet from the car all of a sudden it came down like someone dumped a bucket of water on us.

I made it from Cocoa to Melbourne in a truck last night. It seems like it should be fine all around today.

Is it true that, prior to this, Florida had been experiencing a longterm drought?

Not the space coast. We've had plenty of rain.
