back and off again..WY anyone?
Back again from the sand box and got word I am going to Cheyenne WY to work with some AF Doc's
IA was interesting (IA is Individual augmenty) it is when the Navy in all it's wisdom takes people like divers and sends them out with specwar teams so we can function as IDC's since there is a shortage apparently.
So are there any of you from up there? I saw a few from CO loks like I am close to Denver and FT Collins.

good to have you back home!, now, is there a way that you MIL types can speak in a language we can understand, or better yet, is there a book with all the acronyms that we can refer to?

Not from Wy but curious... are you a dive HM? It should be interesting for you to get in some good dives while there. When I was a HM, I only served with the Corps or in hospitals.
Good luck and welcome back!!

Warren AFB in Cheyenne, if that is your post, is a beautiful old base. Originally an Army Cavalry base, full of period buildings and stables that have been repurposed. Be sure to check out the small museum on site and see if there are any base tours offered -- or just wander around on your own, eyes open. I've heard a completely straight-laced accountant type, zero imagination, tell of encountering the ghosts/spirits/what have you of a mounted cav patrol while walking across the old parade grounds.
Off base, there's a cool old diner in a trolley car not too far away -- locals should know it, or I can ask my mother for specifics (she just moved from near Laramie after 30+ years).
Enjoy your stay!

I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear

Most people never realize that they are going to learn a whole new language when they join.
To make it worse, each of the services has their own dialect, so what an acronym means in one service isn't necessarily what it means to another.
I have either been with the Army as either enlisted or civilian for 23 years now and I have almost got it figured out.
