Hi, from Jessica Murray
I am (obviously) new here and thought it was a good idea to say hello, so "Hello"... hehe
I'm a mother of 2 beautiful children, Brenden Christopher (age 10) and Lillianna Raven (age 4), I am also engaged to be amrried and am trying to incorporate my haritage into the wedding, so any sugestions on how to go about that would be great! Jessie and I (yes, I know, Jess and Jessie...) will be tying the knot at the end of summer next year after he returns form Iraq... Oh, lets see, I was born in Jamestown New York USA and we have a street named after our ancestor there. He brought indoor plumbing to teh area, yay for him, because I love hot water inthe cold morinings!! I'm very proud of being a Murray and love learning whatever I can about my heritage.
I hope to get to make friends here.
Light, Love and Laughter to you and your's
Jess

from coastal North Carolina. Mixing heritage in weddings is a great idea. We have just had a Jewish/Scottish/New Zealand mix for ours. For Scottish traditions we had a piper pipe us in and out of the Temple and then down 1 1/2 blocks to the reception, used a quaich in place of the traditional Kiddish Cup for the wine, and I presented my bride with a piece of family tartan to welcome her into the Clan. Of course all the males in the wedding party were kilted. Just make sure the officiant is comfortable with the cultural aspects. So there's some ideas to start with.
There are many of us here with a military background, so please be sure to let your fiancee know that his service and personal sacrifice is appreciated.

Welcome from up the road in Grand Island.
There are more than a few threads here on weddings, so have a look around.
Locally, the Buffalo-Niagara region has a lot of pipers to choose from, and I think the British Shop in Buffalo rents kilt suits for weddings.
