Doing the happy dance next to the mailbox (new kilt pics)
Hi, All,
Well, Santa came a month an a half or so early this year! I'd convinced the spouse that a new USA Kilt would make a wonderful (early) Christmas present.
Now, she's stopped trying to hide or surprise me with Christmas presents (under the theory that everyone has a super power, my super power is the ability to accidentally find out what my presents are: I walk in as they're being purchased, pass them as they're being delivered unwrapped, and such like).
So, she let me unwrap it early.
I like it.
From the back:
Showing the pleats:
It has a very nice, crisp feel to it. The only little disappointment is that it is my first PV kilt, and I was hoping that 13 oz PV was going to be a little heavier. Not Rocky's fault at all: he delivered as promised. I just had a mental misconception that 13 oz PV was going to be a little closer to 16 oz wool than it is.
The wife likes it on me, and it is very comfortable.
Now, to keep warm, I'll just have to finish my wool kilts.

It's a semi-traditional Thomson Grey. You can see the Thomson Grey tartan close to the bottom of the page. Click on it and you'll get a bigger view.

The picture on the carpet that you are standing on reminds me of my mother, who used to ride to hounds side saddle.Nice tartan by the way.

I'm glad the kilt and flashes got there OK.
If you don't mind my asking, why did you think it was 13 or 16 oz material? PV is an 11 - 12 oz fabric... We describe it on our website as 11 oz, just to be sure people know that it's at least 11 oz.

It looks great and it's a beautiful tartan.
Q: Would you say that the PV weight is comfortable for spring and fall temperatures (high 60s, low 70s)?

You have good reason to like it; it's a very attractive kilt!
