Talking Elections in the Age of the Internet

I usually cannot abide watching TV on Election Night.
However, keeping informed on the Internet is really working for me. The results are almost as fast and there are no pundits!

I'm watching "Indecision '08" with Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert. That's all the news I need tonight.

I haven't watched TV for most of the past 25 years. The internet definitely good enough for me, and, IMHO, is the perfect medium for election coverage.

I agree! PBS isn't quite as bad, but is still too "talking head" for my taste. I remember going to a local hotel ball-room and watching the results being read from a ticker tape and then written buy hand on a large chalk board. (I'm giving away my age here). But I rather miss that.

Seems to me that the internet, while a wunnerful tool, also continues the alienation of the population one from another. There was a marvelous sense of community then that seems to have largely been lost.
