    Need formal help

    Hi All,

I need help. I am going to try to get the most bang for my buck and use the suit jacket I used for Halloween (Jake Blues of the Blues Brothers), for an Argyle Jacket, to be worn to a formal Christmas Party. I have found several sources for buttons, what I need is the sizes to use for the different places. Cuffs, pocket flaps, epilates, front, and the vest (waist coat). As an afterthought, how many buttons in each area?

    Thanks guys,

I have seen a couple attempts at converting a standard jacket into an Argyle and they didn't look good. The cuffs usually come out very odd looking.

I suggest you shorten the jacket for kilt wear and forget about the fancy stuff, like cuffs, epilates and numerous buttons.

    Jason,

what size are you? I have a 40" chest Argyle you could borrow if that would help.

To answer at least part of your question, there is one large button to close the jacket and 3 smaller buttons on each sleeve and each pocket flap.
