All I can say is WOW, the power of this site and being an alumnus of Boston University has so many rewards that are never really advertised but nice when things good come your way.

It all started when I logged onto the BU Alumni site to see if I could get yet another person to critique my resume W/O having to shell out $395!

My E-mail to a BU Advisor:

Dear Sir,

I am getting ready to retire from the Army and am creating my resume and
after seeing so many examples on what employers or HR managers are
looking for I thought I might utilize my Alma Mater. I have a prepared
resume and have adjusted it many times over the past two weeks.

I am trying to get hired on in Boise Idaho either with the Ada County
Sheriff or Boise PD. However, I have also been looking into the Seattle
Port Police and Sierra Vista Arizona PD.

I graduated from BU/MET under the same program in 2006.

Given the problems with today's economy and the shrinking job market, networks will become even more important. Good for you for using one, and best wishes in your job search. BTW - both MC Camp Lejeune and MCAS Cherry Point here in NC are hiring civilian police for their security. It's causing shortages in our local police and sheriff departments.

If you are interested in working in Europe for the Dept of Defense, keep an eye open. Our base has recently hired some DOD civilian police officers. Don't know if there are any more openings here at Grafenwoehr, but there may be openings at other bases.

Best source of info would be USAJobs or CPOL (Civilian Personnel On Line)
