Because you can't have enough waistcoat questions...
I am having an Argyll made from a dark tweed jacket -- it's a nice, do-nearly-everything jacket because it has hints of blue, black, brown and gray in it.
I know from my earlier n00b thread that the waistcoat and jacket don't need to match. My new question is, is the waistcoat an appropriate place to get a pop of color -- say, a royal blue or red or green -- or would that detract from the kilt?
Example: Macduff Red Modern is a bright, colorful tartan. Would a brightly colored vest be overkill and take away from the kilt? Would a colorful waistcoat be better worn with a darker tartan? Or just not at all?
I have my thoughts, but I've been wrong once or twice before.
