Not in my area I'm afraid, but it's a great idea.
There is a gentleman, Ken Bloom, who gives talks about Scottish Military History at the Winston-Salem NC Celtic Festival and Highland Games (this year May 9).
Very interesting and informative. I am sure that any seminar by Scott Thompson, the president of the Cateran Society would be worthwhile.
Good luck to you!

I wish! Are you sure that you wouldn't consider Seattle as a venue?
We've got great coffee, great weather (LOL), and a great group of kilties!

lol I wish Barry I would love to visit Seattle on another note if anyone is interested I can get discounted hotel rooms here, maybe free rooms ;) also got two extra bedrooms at my house anyone can crash for free
I would like to make it a three day event! two day seminar, and the last day have a BBQ my treat!
This all depends if I can talk Mr Thompson in doing a Seminar, and if I can get a group of people wanting to attend. If anyone is not formilur with him he runs the Cateran Society Broadsword Academy in Portland, ME and is the author of Lannaireachd: Gaelic Swordsmanship and Highland Knife Fighting.

Why don't you contact these folks? Seems like an "instant audience" to me:

I wish I could make it...I haven't been to Shreveport in a long time. Caught the Mudbug Fest there quite a few years ago. Good times.
Hope the seminar goes off without a hitch!
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
