Debut of the Rockahock Celtic Music Weekend

Rockahock Campground and Celtic Force Enterprises are pleased to announce the first Rockahock Celtic Music Weekend taking place on Fri. & Sat., May 8 & 9 in Lenexa, VA. This weekend event will feature some top shelf Celtic music talent showcased in a great location, just in time to celebrate the magic of spring.

This first time event, located on the banks of the Chickahominy River between Richmond and Williamsburg, will highlight great music in a fantastic setting. This is the same location that is now used for the Williamsburg Scottish Festival and lends itself perfectly to those looking for a budget conscious, fun filled weekend. Rockahock’s on site amenities provide a welcomed change from the norm of typical campsites and gives the visitor choices when it comes to their weekend experience.

Headlining the weekend will be Scottish tribal band, Albannach. With music that delivers power, passion and a primal stirring, this will be the only US spring festival for the band from Glasgow, Scotland. (There will also be something special offered by the band that weekend to those that attend, see below.) Those bad boys from Philly, Barleyjuice, will provide their version of high-energy Celtic music. Known for their ability to raise the bar when it comes to live shows, nothing will be held back during this weekend. The Irish side of the Celtic music spectrum will be provided by an exciting new act to the area. Branden Loughrey, a Chicago based Irish balladeer, will add his emotion backed music to the mix also. As a special treat that weekend, Davy Morrison of Albannach, will also be on hand to share his music, words and art. Additional artists are still to be added.

Dinner with Albannach
In appreciation of the enthusiastic and continued support of their fans, Albannach will host a special “early bird” dinner on Friday May 8 from 5:00pm until 6:30pm. FREE dinner invitations will be mailed to all weekend campers & weekend event ticket holders. Dinner will be provided on the grounds of Rockahock prior to the kickoff of the evening’s activities and will be a special gift from Albannach to their fans and honored guest. This offers an opportunity to enjoy a festival weekend unlike any other. Dinner with Albannach, you don’t want to miss it.
