I am a Boy Scout Assistant Scoutmaster here in Central Florida. This last weekend, We held our third annual Highland Games District Camporee. The kids had a blast.

This year, our troop decided to purchase kilts and place them in to the troop supply inventory. Our Quartermaster (elected youth position) would then be responsible for renting these kilts out for a nominal fee ($10) to the boys in the troop.

Past exterience told me that I should call the Frugal Corner and speak to Mark Wright. Get his advice. Well, we tried to kilt everyone in the same tartan, but so close to St. Patrick's Day, Highland Games competitions, etc. had nixed that idea. We were successful in Kilting the troop in three tartanss, one for each patrol.

After our first order came in, we had a new group of boys join the troop. They were smallish, 10.5 - 11 year olds. So, I was able to make another order with TFC. No problems. The next week's meeting brought us one additional new scout. With a 24" waist. Another call to Mark, and he came to the rescue, suggesting a large size 7-8 (24" - 29") child's size kilt.

This LAST kilt order was placed on 3/28 and shipped on 3/30. I had no worries that it would make it in time for the next weekend. Well ... as luck would have it, the order was lost in transit. I called Mark and he got Wright on the problem. He found the lost order in shipping limbo, called the carrier to have it returned to him, and negotiated with the carrier to overnight the replacement order for Saturday delivery at no cost to either TFC or myself.

Saturday delivery at the scout camp, I should say. The kilt arrived before 10:00 AM. The new scout was so happy to see me with his kilt, because he was nearly the only scout without a kilt. To make things even better, Mark gave him a sporran.

The Frugal Corner and Mark Wright are shining examples of good old fashion service.

BTW, Mark is offering discounts to scouts and leaders purchasing highland ware and accesseries. To get a 10% discount enter troop123 in the promocode box at checkout.
